Alleged gang member is linked to criminal proceedings for the crime against Farruko Pop

Carlos Roberto López Ortiz, suspect of the crime against Jorge Sebastián Pop Chocoj, known as Farruko Pop, was charged with complicity in homicide and the Public Prosecutor’s Office will have two months to expand on the details of the investigation.

López Ortiz, an alleged member of the Barrio 18 gang, is one of the suspects in the death of Farruko Pop last May. The victim was found buried in the yard of a house in the El Limón neighborhood, zone 18.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office played videos showing another of the alleged perpetrators of the death who is on the run. In addition, a recording was played at the hearing in which the suspect talks to a possible leader of the 18th neighborhood, who questions him about the cause of the crime against the young singer.

The suspect explained that he was unaware of the guidelines and that he believed the crime against Farruko Pop was “authorized.”
