Allegations of Unreported Workers: Alderman Robert Closset Faces Fine in Dinant Court Case

The labor prosecutor’s office requested on Wednesday before the Namur criminal court a fine of 14,400 euros once morest the first Dinant alderman Robert Closset following the facts with which he is accused in the context of his activity as a convenience store. A fine of 24,000 euros is required once morest his repair company. 4,800 euros are claimed from a third defendant. The reimbursement of 19,073 euros unduly received is demanded once morest Closset and the third defendant.

According to the labor prosecutor’s office, three people observed working on behalf of the entrepreneur in 2019 and 2020 were not the subject of immediate work declarations (Dimona). While benefiting from unemployment due to force majeure, one of these men was observed at work. This man, the only employee of the company Eco-Transports, received 19,073 euros in this context between March 15, 2020 and April 1, 2021. During this period, a temporary worker worked on several occasions for the entrepreneur, who refutes all preventions.

Robert Closset indicates: “My only worker is in fact my godson. It was in a private capacity that he carried out work at my home, located right next to my company headquarters.”

Acquittal is argued by counsel for the company, the worker and Robert Closset. The judgment will be delivered on October 25.
