As reported, the niece of the actor Maximilian Schell, who died in 2014, has serious allegations once morest her uncle in a new book. He is said to have sexually abused her as a teenager, according to Marie Theres Relin, herself an actress and daughter of the actress Maria Schell (1926-2005), in the recently published book “Scenes from a Marriage”.
After the allegations, Maximilian Schell’s widow, the soprano Iva Schell, who lives in Carinthia, commented on the allegations. “I’m very shocked, I take these allegations very seriously. That’s what you have to do. The only difficulty I see at the moment is that my husband died ten years ago,” says Iva Schell in an ORF interview. And further: “That means it’s very difficult, he can’t comment on it. You can’t report him, you can’t hold him accountable for it if he did it. And it’s not my job to blame him now to defend or take a stand here or say is it right or is it not right.”
As Iva Schell emphasizes, she herself did not have these experiences with him. “I haven’t heard any of these things in these seven years, not even within my family. According to “Bunte,” Relin’s book is intended to be a coming to terms with her failed marriage.
