Allegations of Corruption: Investigation into CPM Leader’s Involvement in Bribery Scandal

Thiruvananthapuram: Former associate editor of CPM mouthpiece Desabhimani G. A preliminary inquiry has been ordered into the complaint of Congress leader Benny Bahanan MP regarding Shaktidharan’s disclosure. Thiruvananthapuram Cantonment ACP is in charge of the investigation. The complaint given by Benny Bahanan to the state police chief was earlier handed over to the ADGP in charge of law and order. G. Benny Bahanan said that the allegation is very serious and that Shaktidharan should be given immediate statement and that he should be given police protection.

The online portal ‘Leedy’ has alleged that people close to Pinarayi bought around 1500 acres of land using paper companies and smuggled around Rs 552 crores from these transactions abroad. Sakthidharan also says that a member of the current cabinet was also in the Innova car where the money was taken.

He also alleged that a millionaire handed over money in two envelopes to this leader at a hotel in Kovalam. One of these envelopes was handed over to a senior employee who was waiting at the party center even following 11 pm. When he counted in the presence of another staff, it was Rs 10 lakh.
