For Stéphane Bernard, there is no doubt: we are trying to destroy him politically. “Everything indicates that this is a set-up, a cabal with political and homophobic overtones,” underlines the man who was informed of this second filing of complaint by the press when it had barely just been released. be recorded.
”I am then asked to react without knowing the identity of the complainant, the temporality or the content of the complaint. In both cases, contacts were made with the press and with the opposition. It now appears clear that a certain press is taking advantage of this and that behind this there is a political desire to destroy me, to attack my work, my integrity, my sexual orientation and my private life.”
It will be recalled that Stéphane Bernard had already filed a handrail, sent a formal notice and finally filed a complaint against the first plaintiff for slander and defamation. A complaint which is ongoing, according to the alderman. “I have very serious doubts as to the identity of the second complainant because I received threatening messages via Messenger. Once his identity is confirmed, let him know that a complaint will be filed against him.”

Until then, the alderman says he will not let himself be defeated. “I am always impatient to be heard by the investigators because for the moment, I have not yet been able to express myself. I am therefore reduced to having to justify myself on facts that I refute in the strongest possible way, to seeing my name tarnished in the press because, perhaps, I fully accept who I am. I feel enormous anger to see that it is possible, because I am a public figure, to have such atrocities published about me in the press.”
And added: “It is nothing more and nothing less about harassment, relentlessness, a manhunt. I am judged by public opinion before even being able to be heard by the investigators even though I am just waiting for that.” At the time of the alleged events of 2012, Stéphane Bernard was neither a municipal councilor nor an alderman. On the other hand, he was in the middle of an electoral campaign.
”I was 24 years old and I have good memories of it. Yes, I was at Ducasse, I was trying to be everywhere at once. At the time, however, during the Doudou period, I did not go home, I systematically slept at friends’ houses so as not to have to take my vehicle again. I never slept in the hotel, nor even frequented the one I presume to be the second complainant. At the time, we had crossed paths at PS congresses but we were never close, we never exchanged more than a few polite words.”
Refuting any act of rape, in the past or more recently, Stéphane Bernard is now waiting for justice to decide. “I cope by especially thinking of my loved ones who continue to rally around me. They are experiencing the situation through me and I can only say thank you to them for supporting me as they do.” Let us emphasize the fact that Stéphane Bernard, like anyone else, benefits from the presumption of innocence.
