Last Thursday, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, and Chancellor Omar Marwan Minister of JusticeMajor General Jamal Awad, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Social Insurance Authority, and Counselor Abdel Rahman Muhammad, Chairman of the Committee for Preparing the Draft Personal Status Law, to review the features of the draft of the new Personal Status Law, and directed a number of important measures for the development of the family..
1- Establishing a family care fund and an insurance policy to support it financially in facing expenses and challenges related to personal status issues.
2- The state is committed to providing the Fund’s financing sources and fully supporting it.
3- The drafting of the new law must be simplified and detailed in a way that makes it easier for all groups of people to understand and assimilate its provisions, especially those who are not involved in legal issues.

Details of the features of the bill
1- President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi directed last June to prepare an integrated and detailed draft law on personal status
2- The Minister of Justice formed a committee on June 5 to prepare the law, consisting of 10 judges, including two female judges
3- A deadline of 4 months was given to complete the draft project, from June 5 to October 5
4- The committee received regarding 4,733 proposals from those interested in personal status. Each proposal was classified according to chapters of the law, such as marriage, divorce, and alimony. The committee also read more than 20,000 proposals.
