Due to the rise in prices, food prices as well as delivery costs have risen significantly. Single-person households who have to meet the minimum delivery order amount often just give up on delivery. However, you can save up to 37% of delivery costs by using online local love gift certificates and public delivery apps.
What is the e-Seoul Love Gift Certificate?
Have you heard of ‘e-Seoul Love Gift Certificate’? This is an online local love gift certificate in Seoul that was newly released on the 21st of last month. The e-Seoul Love Gift Certificate is sold at a 7% discount from the face value. Unlike the existing e-Seoul Love Gift Certificate, which was sold for regarding a month at the end of last year, it was newly released so that it can be used all over Seoul regardless of autonomous district.
Local love gift certificates, also called local currency, are initially issued with the purpose of lowering the burden of fees on local small business owners and revitalizing local commercial areas. Because of this, in fact, there have been a lot of restrictions on its use online. However, the newly released e-Seoul Love Gift Certificate can now be used on public delivery apps belonging to Zero Delivery Union.
The e-Seoul Love Gift Certificate can be purchased in units of KRW 10,000 in a total of 4 apps: △Seoul Pay Plus △Shinhan Sol △T-Money Pay △Money Tree. Each person can purchase up to 700,000 won at a time, but each person can hold up to a total of 2 million won. Gift certificates can be purchased using a pre-registered bank account or credit card. For example, if you purchase a gift certificate worth 20,000 won, you will be paid 18,600 won, 7% off the face value. Payment by credit card is only possible with Shinhan Card. This is because the Shinhan Consortium, which consists of Shinhan Bank and Shinhan Card, has been selected as the operating agency for Seoul Love Gift Certificates this year and next year.
As mentioned earlier, eSeoul Love Gift Certificates can be used to deliver food throughout Seoul. However, delivery apps are available only in the five public delivery apps belonging to the Zero Delivery Union, such as △WeMakeupO △I’m hungry, △Mamma’s Eater, and △Lo Market. Except for the delivery app, you can use it at the ‘eSeoul Love Shop’, an exclusive hall for small businesses within the online shopping mall ’11st Street’.
how to use it for delivery
Among the five public delivery apps, ‘Daeggyeyo’ offers unlimited coupons that give you a 3,000 won discount the next day if you pay 10,000 won or more by the end of this month. Assuming that you pay for food worth 10,000 won with a gift certificate worth 10,000 won, you will receive a 700 won discount when purchasing a gift certificate, and 3,000 won as a coupon the day following your order, giving you a total 37% discount.
There are a few things to be aware of. Since it is not possible to pay with a combination of gift certificates and credit cards, the amount of gift certificates you have must be greater than the amount you order. If you have an e-Seoul Love gift certificate that was sold at the end of last year, you will need to either refund it from the app where you originally purchased the gift certificate or wait until it is transferred in batches in the future.
Local love gift certificates can be used in public delivery apps outside of Seoul. Gyeonggi-do public delivery app ‘Delivery Express’ can be paid with local currency. In Busan, you can use ‘Dongbaekjeon’, a local love gift certificate, on the public delivery app ‘Dongbaektong’. Public delivery apps such as Daegu’s ‘Daegu-ro’, Gangwon-do’s ‘Let’s get it right’ and Jeollabuk-do’s ‘Delivery Masters’ can also be paid for with local love gift certificates. If you order delivery in this way, even if there is no coupon payment event like the app, you can save a lot on delivery costs as much as the amount discounted at the time of purchasing a local love gift certificate.
