All traffic lanes are reopened on the E40 motorway towards the Coast

All traffic lanes are reopened on the E40 motorway towards the Coast after a chain collision which occurred Sunday morning near Beernem (West Flanders), announced at the beginning of the afternoon the Flemish Mobility Center. Major traffic jams were caused by the incident.

Four cars were involved in the accident and three had to be towed away. The left and middle lanes were unusable due to this accident, which caused traffic jams towards the Coast. Delays of almost an hour and a half were to be deplored.

All traffic lanes are now accessible but the Flemish Mobility Center recommends that motorists take an alternative route. The area can be bypassed via the E17 and E403 motorways from Ghent and Bruges, or via the E34/A11 from Antwerp.
