Our reporter, Beijing, January 15 (Reporters Liu Zhiqiang and Wang Zheng) The reporter learned from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on the 15th that from January to December 2023, the national shipbuilding completion volume was 42.32 million deadweight tons, a year-on-year increase of 11.8%; the number of new orders received 71.2 million deadweight tons, a year-on-year increase of 56.4%; as of the end of December, the number of orders on hand was 139.39 million deadweight tons, a year-on-year increase of 32.0%.

From January to December 2023, China’s shipbuilding completion volume, new orders, and order holdings accounted for 50.2%, 66.6%, and 55.0% of the global total in terms of deadweight tonnage, respectively, and 47.6% and 60.2% in terms of revised total tonnage. % and 47.6%, the international market share of each of the aforementioned indicators remains first in the world.

In 2023, China will have 5, 7, and 6 shipbuilding companies entering the top 10 in the world in terms of shipbuilding completions, new orders, and orders on hand. The concentration ratio of the top 10 companies in the country in terms of shipbuilding completion volume is 58.4%, the concentration ratio of the top 10 companies in new orders is 60.7%, and the concentration ratio of the top 10 companies in the number of orders in hand is 59.2%, which continues to maintain a high level.
