On June 9th, for group G in Kampala in Uganda, Mali beat South Sudan 3 goals to 1. After opening the scoring with a goal by Boubacar Koyaté, in the 29th minute, South Sudan finally tilted once morest Mali who equalized in the 58th minute, a goal by Mohamed Camara. Then Sékou Koïta and Alio Dieng scored in added time following the 90th minute.

Later in the day, Ethiopia beat Egypt 2-0 at the Bingu National Stadium in Malawi.

Guinea managed at the last moment, goal realized by Naby Keïta in the 91st minute, to beat Malawi, at home, at the Lansana Conté stadium in Conakry.

All the countries in this group D now have the same number of points: 3!

In Group H, Côte d’Ivoire and Lesotho leave with a draw. Côte d’Ivoire remains at the top of its group with 4 points.

Another match, counting for the first day, was played in Dar es Salaam in Tanzania, for Group C between Burundi and Cameroon which scored the only goal of the match, in the 30th minute by Karl Toko Ekambi.

On Wednesday June 8, Geny Catamo, a Mozambique winger, converted his team’s only shot on target, once morest Benin. Efficient. Thanks to this victory, the selection of Reinildo, defender of Atletico Madrid, takes second place in group L, just behind the Senegalese leader. Benin ranks last, with a score of 0 in two games.
