Apple has just closed its Keynote WWDC22. This presentation took place at a frantic pace. You haven’t had the opportunity to follow it, here is the summary.
This Keynote started with a short introduction from Tim Cook regarding the various developer academies around the world. Then the race once morest time continued with Craig Federighi. A presentation of almost 2 hours summarized in a few words below:
iOS 16
At the level of what’s new in the operating system of the iPhone, we will retain the following announcements:
- The lock screen that will benefit from more customization options
- A new notification system (from below)
- Editing messages (deletion, cancellation, modification, etc.)
- Improved Dictation function
- Support for identity documents in the Wallet application
- Apple Pay Later
- Improved Maps app
- New features for parental control
- Photo sharing via iCloud Shared Library
- A new interface for the HomeKit app
- CarPlay optimization
The new version of iOS will be available to all developers starting today and to the general public in the fall.
WatchOS 9
After a version 8 which did not bring any major new features, the new version WatchOS 9 will bring its share of new features:
- New dials
- New analyzes related to running
- Analysis of sleep cycles with Sleep Stage
- A reminder to take medication
A new M2 chip
The new generation of chip continues the momentum of the M1 chip. This new M2 chip allows for better performance.
A new MacBook Air
To be able to go with these new chips, Apple announces a new MacBook Air. This new model uses the codes of the MacBook Pro presented during the September Keynote, namely:
- A square design
- A notch for the 1080p camera
- Un port MagSafe
In terms of design, it will be available in 4 new colors:
- Argent,
- Space grey,
- Stellar Light,
- and midnight blue
A new MacBook Pro
To complete the M2 range, Apple is also announcing a new macbook pro equipped with the new in-house M2 chip.
macOS Ventura
To accompany these new MacBooks, Apple announces a new version of its operating system. Its name: macOS Ventura. In terms of novelties, we find in particular:
- Stage Manager: a kind of multitasking
- Continuity Camera allows you to use your iPhone as a camera during calls.
And finally iPadOS 16
To end its presentation, Apple highlighted the new version of iPadOS. This version includes the following new features:
- A collaborative mode
- Freeform: a collaborative whiteboard
- A dedicated weather app
- Features taken from iOS 16
