all supermarkets no longer sell them, “customers are asked not to consume them”

In consultation with the Federal Agency for the Safety of the Food Chain (Afsca), the Colruyt and Okay supermarkets are recalling organic avocados from the Boni brand on Monday due to an excessively high residue content of a plant protection product ( chlorpyrifos).

The affected products were sold in sets of two pieces, from September 9 to September 19 inclusive. They bear the article number 29597 and have expiry dates of September 17 and 20, 2022.

Customers who have purchased these Boni avocados are invited not to consume them and to bring them back to the store, where they will be reimbursed. In the meantime, all supermarkets have removed the affected products from the shelves.

For more information, consumers can contact Colruyt Group customer service on 0800/99.24.
