If the Toyota compact changes little aesthetically, there is something new under the hood. This refreshed Corolla will be in dealerships in early 2023.
The choice of engines
The Corolla remains available with two simple hybrid engines 1.8 and 2.0 liters, but these blocks evolve and inaugurate in Europe the fifth generation of hybridization Toyota. In particular, there is a more powerful lithium-ion battery, while being smaller and lighter.
The 1.8 sees its power increase from 122 to 140 hp. For the 2.0, it’s now 196 hp instead of 184 hp. The overhaul of the mechanical assemblies results in an improvement in performance, with for example 1.7 seconds better on the 0 to 100 km/h for the 1.8. But CO2 emissions are stable, even falling.
