“All-NBA Teams Unveiled: Who Made the Cut and Who Got Snubbed”

Busy week in rewards for the NBA: following the All-Rookie Teams and the All-Defensive Teams, it’s the turn of the All-NBA Teams to be unveiled tonight at 1 a.m. One of the most prestigious individual gratuities in the Great League. We talk a lot regarding All-Star selections to measure the impact of a career; but when it comes to All-NBA, we immediately switch to another caliber of player.

We had a good time at the start of the week but now it’s the big guys’ turn to be rewarded. Last year, we had the right to Luka Doncic, Devin Booker, Jayson Tatum, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Nikola Jokic to form the 1st Team. Then Stephen Curry, Ja Morant, DeMar DeRozan, Kevin Durant and Joel Embiid for the 2nd Team. And finally Trae Young, Chris Paul, LeBron James, Pascal Siakam and Karl-Anthony Towns to complete the 3rd Team.

First reaction when you see these teams: the NBA goes fast! We suspect that few names from the 3rd Team will be back in the nominations this year. Even DeMar DeRozan, who had a very good season last year, will certainly not retain his rank in 2nd Team given the collective results of the Bulls. However the big winner of this year is most certainly Joel Embiid. After having failed 4 years in 2nd Team (2018, 2019, 2021, 2022), the reigning MVP will taste the 1st Team for the first time this year. What may give him the strength to finish the job once morest the Celtics at the Wells Fargo Center.

For the rest, we can easily imagine Nikola Jokic coming to join him and of course Giannis Antetokounmpo. Everything will depend on whether the league maintains a certain “logic” of the positions or whether it already takes into account the rules of the new CBA. If this is not the case, Nikola Jokic will most certainly be snubbed because he plays in the same position as Jojo. On the backcourt side, there is a real battle this year. Difficult to project between Stephen Curry, Luka Doncic, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander or Damian Lillard for this 1st Team. Donovan Mitchell also has arguments to make despite his choke in the Playoffs. For Ja Morant, it seems short for the 1st but we should find it in the following ones. We can debate endlessly on these distinctions but it is the NBA that will have the last word tonight!

Ah the All NBA Teams… A cocktail of emotions filled with recognition, gratification and blasphemy. See you tonight at 1 a.m. to find out if your franchise player has been snubbed or not: enough to wait for a nice Knicks-Heat (1:30 a.m.) at Madison Square Garden!
