The Super Bowl is one of the biggest single sporting events in the world and the journey to get there begins with the start of the NFL Playoffs next weekend. The longest regular season in NFL history is over. After the NFL season is before the Super Bowl. Super Bowl LVI takes place in Los Angeles on the night of February 14, 2022. In the following lines you will not only find out who is broadcasting the Super Bowl 2022 and the playoffs, who is appearing in the halftime show, but also much more.
The road to the Super Bowl
In the NFL, the 14 best teams in the league compete once morest each other following the regular season. In a KO system, the teams play for participation in the Super Bowl. The NFL is divided into two so-called conferences: the AFC and the NFC. Both consist of 16 teams each, of which seven teams qualified for the postseason in the 17-game regular season.
There are three rounds in the playoffs, which the NFC and AFC play independently. The strongest team in each conference from the regular season (by number of wins and losses) has a non-playing week in the first round of the playoffs. In the playoff games, it is generally the case that the best team meets the “worst available” opponent (2nd place meets 7th place, etc.). There is only one game at a time, the loser is out and the winner advances to the next round. The third round is the so-called Conference Championship Game: The winner from NFC and AFC is the winner of the respective conference and then represents it in the Super Bowl.
In the NFL playoffs you can watch all games live on free TV.

These 14 NFL teams qualified for this year’s playoffs
The respective conference winners this year are the Green Bay Packers (NFC) and the Tennessee Titans (AFC). Both teams will now not play on the wild card weekend. Instead, enjoy their well-deserved game-free week, which beckons the best team in the conference. The other 12 NFL teams are already fighting for a place in the next round in the Wild Card Round this weekend. Of those 12 teams, five teams this year have quarterbacks that have never been in the postseason.
Playoff freshmen quarterbacks are under particular pressure, and the numbers are usually once morest them.
The Tennessee Titans have a bye week as No. 1 in the AFC. You meet the “worst” of the remaining seeds in the Divisional Round.
The Pittsburgh Steelers snuck into the postseason thanks to their win over the Baltimore Ravens and the Indianapolis Colts’ surprise loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Steelers were guaranteed a spot in the group as long as the Raiders and Chargers didn’t draw.

Super Bowl 2022: When and where will the game take place?
The Super Bowl LVI takes place on the night of Sunday (February 13, 2022) to Monday (February 14, 2022). Kick-off is usually at 12:40 a.m. The venue for the Super Bowl 2022 will be SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles (Caliornia). Completed in 2020, the stadium is home to both the Los Angeles Rams and the Los Angeles Chargers and has a capacity of 70,270 spectators. But it can also be expanded to up to around 100,000 seats, which will be the case at the Super Bowl. Except Omicron is thwarting the League’s efforts.
With COVID-19 cases on the rise, it’s not surprising that the NFL is exploring other potential Super Bowl venues.
This is not uncommon as the league does this every year. But with Los Angeles being the venue for this year’s title game and restrictions on attending indoor events increasing, this has become even more notable.
“We plan to play Super Bowl 56 as scheduled on Sunday, February 13th at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles,” NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said. “As part of our standard contingency planning process that we conduct for all regular season and postseason games, we have contacted several teams to inquire regarding stadium availability in the event we do not like the Super Bowl due to weather-related issues or unforeseen circumstances be able to play planned.”
AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, home of the Dallas Cowboys, is reportedly one of the facilities targeted. The stadium hosted the 2021 Rose Bowl, which was moved from Pasadena to Arlington due to the COVID-19 restrictions in California.
Who will appear on the halftime show at Super Bowl 2022?
The Super Bowl LVI halftime show will feature an all-star cast. dr Dre, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige and Kendrick Lamar will perform at the February 13 event at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium, home of the Rams and Chargers.
It’s the third straight year that Jay-Z’s Roc Nation has partnered with Pepsi and the NFL to produce the halftime show. Last season, The Weeknd performed, while Shakira and Jennifer Lopez co-headlined the year before.
“This year we will be taking the concept of collaboration to the forefront,” said Adam Harter, PepsiCo’s senior vice president of media, sports and entertainment. “Together with the NFL and Roc Nation, we continue to seek to push the boundaries of what fans can expect during the music’s most exciting 12 minutes; this year’s superstar line-up is sure to deliver a stunning performance.”
The Super Bowl LVI halftime show will be the first time the five artists will perform together.
Announcing the NFL MVP
Prior to the Super Bowl, NFL Honors will also announce the Most Valuable Player of the Year. These are our top 5 candidates:
5. Jonathan Taylor, Colts
From a production standpoint, Taylor was the most outstanding player in the league. He helped Indy overcome weaknesses in passing by leading the league in all major rushing categories. However, the Colts’ failure to make the playoffs was a major blow to his MVP claim.
4. Cooper Coup, Rams
Matthew Stafford was the Los Angeles Rams’ MVP for most of the season until Kupp’s absurd consistency in the latter stages of the season began to emerge. No receiver has ever won the MVP award, but Kupp — the league’s top pass catcher — comes close.
3. Joe Burrow, Bengals
Burrow seemed far from becoming MVP until he stepped up late in the season and became one of the hottest quarterbacks in the league. In weeks 14-17, he threw 11 touchdowns and no interceptions to help Cincy win the AFC North title.
2. Tom Brady, Buccaneers
You really have to see it to believe it. At age 44, Brady led the NFL in most quarterback stats, recorded a 13-4 record, and helped the Tampa Bay Buccaneers win their first division since 2007. The GOAT, whose five game-winning drives ranks second rank, has made at least 40 touchdown passes in two consecutive campaigns for the first time in his career.
1. Aaron Rodgers, Packers
The fact that the Packers finished ahead of the Bucs in the NFC and that Rodgers played essentially clean football is the main reason he leads the MVP race. Rodgers, who has thrown just one interception since Oct. 17, is the NFL’s most effective passer. At .257 EPA/play, he’s well ahead of Brady’s .217. Rodgers is the best player on the best team — that’s why he deserves to be the first player to win back-to-back MVPs since Peyton Manning (2008-09).
Will Super Bowl LVI be held with spectators?
It can currently be assumed that the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles will be filled to capacity. For the regular season, all 32 NFL teams were able to plan to use their stadiums to full capacity once more.
Los Angeles last hosted the Super Bowl in 1993 when Michael Jackson appeared on the halftime show.
Where will the Super Bowl 2022 be broadcast on TV or live stream?
The Super Bowl will be broadcast live on free TV by ProSieben and Puls4. The transmission started at 10:15 p.m. last year (kickoff: 12:40 a.m.). The Super Bowl can also be seen on the DAZN streaming service. Last year, DAZN also offered the original American soundtrack in addition to the German commentators.
