Golkar Party Deputy General Chairman Adies Kadir explained that all Golkar deputy general chairmen have the opportunity to become Acting General Chairmen of Golkar.

“In the organizational regulations, if asked who will replace him, all deputy general chairmen have the opportunity to replace Mr. Airlangga as Plt,” said Adies at the Golkar DPP office, Jakarta, Sunday (11/8).

“The deputy general chairman has the opportunity to advance as Plt, but that depends on the decision of the plenary meeting which will be held in the near future,” he said.

Adies also explained that in the process, Airlangga’s resignation as Golkar General Chairman must first be reported to the Golkar DPP. So legally, the Golkar DPP is still waiting for the Golkar Party’s decision through a plenary meeting regarding Airlangga’s resignation letter.

“Later, regarding the plan for the plenary meeting and so on, it will indeed be done as soon as possible,” said Adies.

Adies also emphasized that in the plenary meeting it would be decided who the Acting President would be who would be appointed to replace Airlangga.

Meanwhile, Airlangga officially resigned from the position of General Chairman of the Golkar Party since Saturday night, August 10, 2024. The decision was taken after careful consideration and to maintain the integrity of the Golkar Party. (P-5)
