All children in schools

Neoliberalism constantly builds discourses and actions that generate debate and consensus around the uselessness of state intervention as a guarantor of rights and public issues. From the same authors of “falling into public school”, “the poor never make it to university” now it is “too late to go looking for the kids… surely they are already lost in the corridors of a villa or in the hands of the drug trafficking…”

Before Macri/Vidal and now Larreta/Acuña, they consider themselves socially authorized to generate discriminatory and xenophobic speeches.

They consider the State an expropriator of individual rights and an obstacle to what should be the natural social selection that the market and meritocracy have to produce. From its conception, only the strongest will arrive, those with the best social, economic and cultural position, those who have the most merits, those who are in better conditions.

What the Macri, Acuña, Larreta don’t know is that “Every day we enter the school or the classroom, the dreams of the people are set in motion”. And ours dreams of full democracy, rights, social and environmental justice, more feminism, with a country and a world that is fairer and more supportive.

That is why every day, in public schools there are teachers who build a pedagogical and loving bond with all the pibxs. And they deploy hundreds of pedagogical and social strategies so that this link is firm and complete, transforming their life experiences.

We education workers are convinced that “quality public education must be a collective goal, the challenge is to strengthen a fundamental institution for social transformation, for the formation of critical subjects who organize themselves in the face of injustices, inequalities, violence and the cruelties. A School that forms social subjects capable of transforming their lives and that of their community”.

Our daily epic, very complex in times of pandemic, continues to be building “a school that modifies the origin of the cradle and the experiences of violation of the rights of the popular sectors, that organizes projects to transform lives and unjust collective realities.”

All of our children at school, all of us learning and teaching in public schools, all of us are designing once morest all odds, a fair and happy present and future.
