In addition to rumors that Apple has changed the USB Type-C port in the iPhone 15 series, the latest one, Ming-Chi Kuo, has revealed that Apple is preparing to replace all devices with USB Type-C ports.
Kuo posted on his Twitter that his AirPods, Magic Keyboard/Trackpad/Mouse, MagSafe Battery, and others may switch to USB Type-C ports in the future.
The Lightning port is still used by iPhones and many Apple devices, and the switch to USB Type-C will make it the same standard across devices around the world as well as being more compatible with other devices.
Kuo also pointed out that the reason Apple still hasn’t decided on a portless iPhone is because wireless charging technology isn’t widespread yet. There are more problems than wired, and MagSafe is still not very much used.
