After the success of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, a game released in 2019, Electronic Arts is preparing to launch the continuation of the title. With the sequel developed by Respawn Games, in the same way as the previous game, the new game set in the franchise created by George Lucas will have the mission to surpass its predecessor.
Being a kind of Soulslike in the Star Wars universe, Fallen Order had many features and elements from games like Dark Souls and others, delivering a proposal different from others previously offered in the work. Now, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will follow suit to continue Cal Kestis’ journey.
Plot
While Fallen Order takes place five years following Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, the third installment in the space saga, the sequel to the game will be set five years following its predecessor. With Cal Kestis, the protagonist, more mature and experienced, the game will show how the jedi survives in a galaxy that is still dominated by the terrible Empire.
Now that he is no longer a Padawan, Cal will feel the burden of upholding the legacy of the Jedi Order as he continues his crusade once morest the forces of the Empire. Needing to decide how far he’s willing to go to save those around him, Cal Kestis will have to fight to keep the entire galaxy from falling into a terrible darkness.
Gameplay
With Kal having five different stances for combat, the player will be able to switch styles while facing different types of enemies. While seeking to expand the mechanics of the first game in the franchise, Survivor also promises to deliver new features, while maintaining the essence and structure of the first game. Kal will have several planets to explore, with the adventure featuring a large number of different biomes and very unique scenarios.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor promises to deliver planets with their own characteristics and elements, placing different types of challenges and enemies in the player’s path in each environment, while Cal will be able to learn new techniques, master more skills and use different equipment to achieve his goal.
Use the Force in Combat
Keeping the same cinematic combat system that drew praise from players in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, the sequel will have new features to make confrontations even more interesting. The title will feature new Force abilities to enhance your combat, as well as new saber fighting styles. While combining alternate weapons and skills, the player will be able to find their own style to overcome the challenges of the adventure.
