We’ve already seen several reports and images about Nothing Phone 2, but today we have something different to show. It is a video by youtuber Marques Brownlee, who has already got his hands on the new generation and can compare its look with the Nothing Phone 1 released in 2022.
The creator says that he managed to have the smartphone for the video thanks to a partnership with the manufacturer, which limited some items that can be shown on the device, so today we will focus on its design.
The youtuber starts to show the Nothing Phone 2 at 12 minutes and 50 seconds of video, where we notice that the new generation must have subtle design changes in relation to the Nothing Phone 1. The first of them involves the rear LEDs, which are now 11 instead of 5.
In addition, the LEDs now have 33 light zones controlled by Nothing OS, while Nothing Phone 1 has only 12, this means that we will have new animations for notifications in this new generation.
Marques Brownlee shows some of the applications for the new LEDs, which can be used to indicate the cell phone’s charging level, the volume level and even how much time is left for a countdown timer to reset. In addition, Nothing will allow apps to use this feature to let you know how much time is left for your Uber to arrive, for example.
It will also be possible to define which LED will be used by each application, so the user will know which notification has been received without having to turn on the cell phone screen. There is even a composer of musical ringtones for you to create exclusive ringtones, which has already been shown by the manufacturer itself.
