The police had been reported at around 12:50 a.m. a hit-and-run accident. After a short search, the man’s car was parked in the area of a roundregarding in Bürs. But instead of stopping, the driver wanted to flee in the direction of the Rheintalautobahn (A14). He endangered the police with his dangerous driving style and disregarded other stop signals.
Man drove to police officers
He was eventually surrounded by several police cars and an officer got out of his service vehicle to get the driver out. The 30-year-old then suddenly drove towards the police officer, who had to jump to the side.
As a result, the man rammed two of the patrol cars before fleeing on the Rheintalautobahn in the opposite direction of travel. He finally stopped and was arrested when he was pushed onto a green verge.
According to the police, the car used by the man was the car of a company where the 30-year-old does not work. In addition, the man, once morest whom there is a gun ban, carried an unloaded alarm gun on the passenger seat. Further investigations are ongoing, it said.
