Passengers on flights that were to land in Charleroi in the middle of the Franklin storm communicated their traumatic experience to our colleagues at RTL.
Alicia was returning from Lisbon with the airline Ryanair when the wind started to blow too hard. “There was a lot of turbulence. There were people crying, screaming, vomiting, ”explains the Belgian. “During that time, we were alone. We shared bags to be able to vomit because the cabin crew, we did not see it, ”she testifies.
Alicia’s plane was supposed to land around 10:45 p.m., but following 50 minutes, the pilot decided to land in Luxembourg. The 130 passengers waited a long time and following two hours buses arrived. “We get on the bus, and there, surprise, we are dropped off at the terminal and not as far as Charleroi. Once we arrive at the airport, we are told that we will have to manage to get back, ”laments Alicia. A flight she and the 129 other passengers will remember!
