Alicante celebrates the ‘Market Florida’ commercial revitalization market. Bye Bye summer

Alicante is celebrating this Friday a sustainable market to boost trade organised by La Paca Market Vintage together with the Department of Commerce of Alicante City Council, Acua and Unió Gremial, which will take place in the Plaza de la Viña, presented under the title ‘Market Florida. Bye bye summer’, from 7pm to midnight. The event aims to reactivate local trade by promoting sustainable consumption with zero-kilometre products. A wide programme of activities has been organised with recycling workshops, art, concerts, crafts, design and shops will take to the streets.

The Councillor for Commerce, Hospitality and Markets, Lidia López, encouraged people to participate, highlighting that “revitalising our local trade is essential with events such as Market Florida, which showcase all of its commercial offerings, and by doing so in the open air, we manage to reconnect with the local residents who will be able to enjoy the workshops and concerts, and in turn, we manage to boost sales and support the sector by promoting sustainable consumption”.

This action is subsidized by the Department of Commerce of the Alicante City Council, and the program plans to start the inauguration in the afternoon. Recycling workshops have been organized, shops will be taken out onto the street with offers, a magic event will be held for the little ones with the magician Charly and music with a concert by ‘Los Consentidos’ at 9:30 p.m., crafts, illustration, natural cosmetics and antiques. The establishments thus manage to turn Friday into a fun commercial day outdoors for the Florida area.

Councillor Lidia López emphasised that “these initiatives to boost the business are highly valued by both citizens and businesses due to their high impact and results. For this reason, the City Council supports and subsidises them, as this also helps to promote new businesses and allows customers to enjoy a moment of fun entertainment while they shop in the commercial areas of the neighbourhoods, thereby promoting them.”
