Through a letter addressed days ago to the general manager of the Liga1 Profesional, Jesús Gonzales, the Alianza Lima club, after seeing the schedule of the Clausura and definition of the 2023 championship, showed its total concern and discomfort for the large number of days that would have a team to just play the final of the Liga1 Betsson.

“The Closing Championship ends on October 29 and the semifinals are immediately played on November 01 and 05 to later stop the definition of the title to define the 2023 champion for a period of 21 days to restart them on the dates of November 26 and 03 de Diciembre”, can be read in the letter of the intimate club.

Then, it is added: “This decision is absolutely detrimental for the teams that define the championship, even worse if a team concluded its participation in the Clausura tournament (date 19) on October 29 and qualifies to play the final directly, the same it would be played later 27. This situation is totally illogical, detrimental and unacceptable and you as organizers of the Liga1 Betsson 2023 cannot make decisions that harm one or two finalist teams.”

In this document, the intimate club proposes an alternative. “Our suggestion is that the definition of the title be on Wednesday, November 8 and Saturday, November 11, the Fifa date begins on Monday, November 13, so it would not collide with any breach of this provision of the highest world entity.”

It closes by saying that “we consider that the obligation of Liga1 is to seek equity and justice for the teams participating in the tournament, even more so if the ones that define are the best.”
