According to the presidential communication, the meeting between Ali Bongo and his counterpart Xi Jinping will be an opportunity to revitalize, for a win-win partnership, the axes of cooperation that unite Gabon and China. Indeed, the two brotherly countries established their diplomatic relations on April 20, 1974.
Thus, during his stay in China, the President of the Gabonese Republic will also have talks, it is said, with several Chinese authorities such as Mr. Li Qiang, Prime Minister of the Council of State Affairs and Mr. Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress.
In addition and at the end of the talks between the two Heads of State, the two Governments will proceed to the signing of several bilateral agreements which will contribute to the consolidation of the legal framework of cooperation.
At the political level, Gabon and China share a community of views on the major international issues of the day, in particular peace and international security, the fight once morest terrorism, among others.
Economically, China is now one of Gabon’s leading trading partners. It should be noted that more than sixty Chinese companies operating in various sectors of activity are established in our country. They thus contribute to the dynamism of the Gabonese economy.
