Ali Ben Abi Taleb Mosque will be a point of Islamic faith in Lara

The governor of the state of Lara, Adolfo Pereira, accompanied the laying of the first stone for the construction of the Ali Ben Abi Taleb Mosque in the city of Barquisimeto, a place of worship that will allow the encounter of the Islamic faith and will make available different services social.

The activity was attended by Hassan Tarabein, president of the Ali Ben Abi Taleb Mosque Cultural Islamic Center Civil Association; Kassen Mohamad Tayjan, president of the Islamic Centers of all Latin America; Franklin Machiori, architect of the work; Elías Lebbos, Ambassador of Lebanon; Iman Mulyono, Ambassador of Indonesia; Gustaaf Samijadi, Ambassador of Suriname; Rashid Mohsin Fetais, Ambassador of Qatar; Fadi Alzaben, Ambassador of Palestine; Kareem Essam El-Din Amin, Ambassador of Egypt; the mayor of the Iribarren municipality Luis Jonás Reyes; representatives of the countries Algeria, Iraq, Malaysia, Libya and Sudan, as well as part of the executive train of the governorate.

“We are very happy for the start of this work that will surely become a meeting point, prayer and brotherhood; Therefore, we reiterate all our support for the Islamic community that makes life in the entity”, explained the regional leader that the international delegation received the Juan Guillermo Iribarren award and the Juan Jacinto Lara Order in its different classes.

For his part, Mayor Luis Jonás Reyes, affirmed that the project is set to finish in approximately two years, however, he asserted that with government alliances, they hope to cut time, “this Mosque will be a sample of the breadth and ability to recognize ourselves and respect the religions of sister nations; therefore we cry out for God’s blessing to start the work successfully,” said the local leader.

Likewise, Franklin Machiori, project architect of the work to be executed, explained: “The operation of this Mosque consists of three representative buildings of the Islamic doctrine, taking into account areas such as a communal hall, library, prayer room, three small premises, where Muslim food and clothing, surveillance areas and spaces for children will be offered,” he explained.

Finally, Kassen Mohamad Tayjan, president of the Islamic Centers of all Latin America, thanked the government authorities present for their support, commenting that mosques are not only places to pray, but also places to learn regarding Islam and meet other believers. “We are very honored by this accompaniment and we ratify our desire to establish the house of Allah, our God, in the city of Barquisimeto,” he concluded.
