Consumer prices in Azerbaijan have increased due to imported inflation.
>< reports that Prime Minister Ali Asadov said this while presenting the government’s report for 2022 at the plenary session of the parliament held today.
According to the Prime Minister, inflation has become a serious problem all over the world in recent years:
“In particular, an increase in inflation rates was observed in the countries that are our trading partners, the average annual inflation was 20.4%. This process has influenced the increase of the general level of prices in the country as well.”
A. Asadov noted that the average annual inflation in Azerbaijan in 2022 was 13.9%:
“In particular, food prices have had a serious impact on domestic food inflation through imports. The annual price index of imported products has increased by more than 22%. Inflation in Azerbaijan was mainly imported.”
