Sonatrach Group said in a press release on Sunday that the signing ceremony was attended by the CEO of Sonatrach Group, Rachid Hachichi, and the Chairman and Managing Director of Petrojet, Walid Lotfi.
According to the statement, this memorandum will enable both Sonatrach and Petrojet to frame the work related to studying the opportunities and feasibility of establishing a joint company in Algeria, specializing in the design and manufacture of fixed equipment under pressure, certified by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), as well as providing related services.
Petrojet is a construction and manufacturing company specializing in the onshore and offshore oil and gas industry (EPC) and is active in the Middle East and North Africa, including Algeria.
The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding is part of Sonatrach’s strategy to strengthen its control over operations related to its development plan, particularly through the conclusion of high-value-added partnerships aimed at manufacturing high-tech petroleum equipment locally, providing related services, as well as specialized training and transfer of skills and technology.
On October 25, 2022, in Cairo, the Algerian Ministry of Energy and Mines and the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources signed a memorandum of understanding in the fields of oil, gas and mining.
