ALGIERS- President of the Algerian Economic Renewal Council (CREA), Kamel Moula affirmed, Thursday in Algiers, the commitment of Algerian economic companies and private investors to contribute more to supporting national economic growth, stressing the importance of measures taken by the State to remove obstacles for investors.

In a speech delivered during the meeting of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, with economic operators, at the closing of the Entrepreneurship Days, at the International Conference Center (CIC) in Algiers, Mr. Moula indicated that the Algerian economy has “capacities, means and resources which enable it to occupy a place of choice in the international economic space”, affirming that the Algerian economic operator “constantly ensures investment in the different sectors and excels in innovation to create wealth and jobs.”

For Mr. Moula, the main objective to be achieved is “to make Algeria a leading country, economically strong and socially united”, through the exploitation of natural resources and innovative human energies.

Algerian companies “have nothing to envy of their Western counterparts”, thanks to their investment dynamics, their spirit of initiative or their use of modernity and innovation, he underlined, making part of “the commitment of Algerian economic operators, all sectors combined, to contribute to supporting the country’s economic growth and to ensuring more abundant production, while developing export capacities”.

Referring to the obstacles facing investors, Mr. Moula welcomed the progress made in the fight once morest bureaucratic practices, deeming it essential to “intensify coordination between public authorities and economic operators.”

He also recalled the priority given to the energy and health sectors and food security for the future of the country, calling for the creation of “a national pole capable of developing the competitiveness of the agri-food sector”.

The pharmaceutical industry sector is also experiencing “remarkable progress”, particularly following the health crisis induced by Covid-19, he maintained, indicating that the incessant efforts deployed will allow, by 2025, to cover a considerable rate of local demand, particularly in terms of anti-cancer treatment.
