Algerian-American talks on Ukraine and Libya

Advisor to Secretary of State Antony Blinken Derek Chollet received Algerian Ambassador to the United States Ahmed Boutache to discuss issues related to Ukraine and Libya.

Derek Chollet said in a tweet this Saturday morning that he had had talks with the Algerian ambassador in Washington on the crisis in Ukraine and the organization of elections in Libya.

Ahmed Boutache was appointed, let us recall, last October as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Algerian Republic to the United States.

Ahmed Boutache is an Algerian diplomat born in Béjaïa on March 7, 1953 and graduated from the National School of Administration (ENA) in 1977.

Boutache chaired the Follow-up Committee for the Peace and Reconciliation Agreement (CSA) in Mali signed in Algiers in 2015.

In August 2019, he was appointed Algeria’s Ambassador to Italy before Washington approved his appointment as Algeria’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the United States.
