The Algerian national team continued its perfect start in the sixth group of qualifiers for the African Cup of Nations, to be held in Côte d’Ivoire in 2023.
Algeria won a precious 2-0 victory over its host Tanzania, on Wednesday, in the second round of the group, which also witnessed a 1-1 draw with its Alex Reed, Niger, Uganda.
The Algerian team, crowned with the African Nations in 1990 and 2019, strengthened its position at the top of the group, following raising its score to 6 points, achieving the full mark so far, following winning the same result over its Alex Reed, Uganda, in the first round.
Niger came second with two points, while Uganda and Tanzania came third and fourth, respectively, with one point.
Rami Ben Sabaini opened the scoring for Algeria in the third minute of the first half, before Mohamed El-Amin Amora added the second goal in the 89th minute, scoring his first goal with the team nicknamed (The Greens).
It is noteworthy that the group leaders and runners-up will qualify for the finals, which will be held in the summer of next year.
