Algeria fails to institutionalize the presence of a fictitious separatist entity within AU partnerships | Hespress French

Under the title “failed Algerian maneuver to ensure the presence of +polisario+ in AU partnerships”, the newspaper underlines that this project carried by Algeria and certain countries that support it, in reality aims to institutionalize the involvement of certain entities, including the separatists of +polisario+ in international partnerships with the AU.

Morocco, alongside many African countries, rejected this undermined project which aims to impose the separatist entities, the publication indicates, noting that the Kingdom has thus aborted the Algerian maneuvers supported by South Africa.

This is an uncovered attempt to ensure the participation of the “polisario” in violation of the decisions of the African heads of state who supervise this participation, underlines the author of the article.

Quoting the researcher in strategic and security sciences, Mohamed Altayyar, the publication writes that “Algeria’s incessant attempts to enshrine the presence of +polisario+ within the African Union comes following Algiers felt the imminent expulsion of separatists on the part of AU member countries”.

In this sense, he noted that “the legal quorum which allows it is very close,” noting that this will put an end to the Algerian maneuvers which now constitute a source of concern for the Pan-African organization and hinder efforts aimed at liberating the African peoples. the influence of poverty, precariousness and various conflicts”.

The controversial project aims to ensure greater participation of the “polisario” in the conferences and meetings attended by the AU with its partners in Europe and Asia, with a view to ensuring that there is no opposition to the participation of separatists on the part of Morocco or any other African country which refuses the presence of this entity within the bodies of the Union, he underlines.

African countries are now aware that because of the “polisario” within it, the AU is missing out on many development opportunities and hindering the establishment of important partnerships, as happened during of the Tokyo International Conference on Development in Africa (TICAD) recently organized in Tunisia, which was a bitter failure due to the involvement of separatists in its work, in violation of the laws of the African Union.

The author of the article also recalls the exclusion of the “polisario” from the USA-Africa Summit last December, which saw the participation of nearly 50 African leaders, adding that during the 6th AU-EU Summit in February 2022 , the European Union had published a press release reaffirming its constant and solid position of non-recognition of the pseudo “rasd”.

On the other hand, the AU expressed its support for current Moroccan candidacies for international bodies, including its candidacy for election to the Council of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) for the period 2024-2025, the Committee for the Protection of rights of all migrant workers and members of their families, as well as the candidacy for the UN Security Council for the period 2028-2029, explains the newspaper.

The Kingdom is keen to work with African countries for the realization of the continental agenda aimed at making Africa dynamic, strong, democratic and sustainable, and facing environmental threats and dangers, writes the author of the article, noting that the many measures undertaken by the Kingdom reflect this concern, underlines the author of the article.

The presence of a fictitious separatist entity in all AU development partnerships only serves the agenda of colonial powers who want to keep Africa divided and vulnerable to continue depleting the resources of its peoples.
