Algeria Dominates 15th Arab Games: Final Medal Standings and Closing Ceremony

On Saturday, the 15th Arab Games, hosted by Algeria, concluded, and occupied the top of its final medal standings.

Algeria ranked first in the ranking, with 253 medals, including 105 gold, 76 silver and 72 bronze, followed by Tunisia in second place with 121 medals, including 23 gold, 47 silver and 51 bronze, while Morocco, which finished third, won 84 medals, including 21 gold and 38. Silver, and 25 bronze.

Bahrain ranked fourth with a total of 42 medals, including 19 golds, followed by Jordan, which won 62 medals, including 17 golds.

Syria ranked sixth, winning 52 medals, including 14 golds, followed by Egypt, whose athletes won 13 medals, including 12 golds and only one silver, then Qatar, which ranked eighth with 22 medals, including 9 golds.

Iraq came in ninth place with 45 medals, including seven golds, while Saudi Arabia came in tenth place with 45 medals as well, and seven golds as well, but Iraq surpassed it with its tally of silver medals.

Iraq won 18 silver and 20 bronze medals, while Saudi Arabia had only nine silver and 29 bronze medals.

The Algerian President, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, congratulated the Algerian athletes on this achievement, which the government newspaper described as “the peopleBaltarihi, and he said in a tweet on his Twitter page, “All appreciation to the national elite for its high performance and honoring Algeria during the Arab Games, and for its well-deserved ranking in the first place.”

Algeria has hosted this Arab sporting event since July 5th, while the closing ceremony was organized on Saturday (July 15th).

The ceremony took place at the 5th of July stadium in the capital, whose name symbolizes the date of Algeria’s declaration of independence from France in 1962.
