Algeria.. Army Chief of Staff calls for increased caution and vigilance in light of what is happening in the region and on the country’s borders

Lieutenant General Said Chengriha said in a speech during his visit to the First Military Region in Blida, as part of the inspection visits to various military regions and combat preparations for the year 2024-2025, that “the rapid transformations in the region and what is happening along all our borders constitute a basic reason for increasing caution, doubling caution and intensifying the requirements for vigilance.”

The Chief of Staff of the Algerian Army called for “continuous efforts to make the right improvements and adaptations to what has been achieved so far to be consistent with what they aspire to achieve this year, whether in terms of combat preparation of individuals and units, and raising the readiness of the army’s battle formation, or in terms of protecting the borders and combating drug and hallucinogen smuggling networks, illegal immigration and organized crime in all its forms.”

Saeed Chengriha congratulated President Abdelmadjid Tebboune on his re-election for a second term, stressing in his speech that “they are determined in the Algerian army to continue working sincerely to enhance the country’s security and stability, continuously raise the army’s readiness, and consolidate its professionalism so that it is able to confront all threats and deter all hostile subversive projects.”

The Lieutenant General gave a number of directives and instructions, all of which focused on the need to maintain the operational readiness of the units and enhance the requirements of security and stability throughout the country.
