Alberto Núñez Feijóo He already has a date for his replacement at the head of the PP of Galicia: it will be through an extraordinary congress that will be held in Pontevedra the next May 21 and 22. “I would not have taken this step if I did not know that in Galicia there is a party prepared to take over, with the same commitment and maturity that we have done in recent decades”, he said in reference to his recent rise to the presidency of the party at the national level. What will be the 18th Congress of the Galician PP, the one “of the age of majority”, as he has baptized, will elect as his successor the one who until now has been his vice president in the Xunta de Galicia, Alfonso Ruedawho will also replace him as the highest regional political representative.
The conclave will overlap, therefore, with the congress of the Madrid PP that will consolidate Isabel Diaz Ayuso as president of the party in the Community of Madrid. From the environment of the leader of the PP they had warned during the last days of this possibility, that of a foreseeable coincidence of congresses due to Feijóo’s intention to undertake the territorial relays before the summer.
Feijóo, who has recalled that on such a day as 13 years ago he took office for the first time as president of the Xunta, has claimed Galician politics as “one of the great regions of Europe” and has confronted it with the Government of Spain, where “there is more instability than ever and the ability to solve problems has been replaced by the impressive ability to create them, even to increase those that already exist“.
The still president of the Xunta has breastfed his 16 years at the head of the party and has once once more demanded a tax cut to mitigate the effects of inflation. “A 10% tax that we pay every day as a result of those 10 points of inflation”, has pointed out what represents “the main problem of our country”. Feijóo, who will not attend this Tuesday the inauguration of Alfonso Fernandez Manueco as president of the Junta de Castilla y León, he will present the president of the Government, Pedro Sanchez, a “real alternative proposal” following meeting with social partners. The goal will be to “relieve the tax burden and four out of five Spaniards pay less personal income tax from the month of January of this year 2022″.

The campaign will start on April 30, will last 10 days and only 90 signatures will be needed to present the candidacyhas explained Tellado regarding a congress that will lack political ponences.
Elena Candia, deputy for Lugo in the Galician Parliament, will be the president of the 18th extraordinary congress; Y Lucia Baldthe vice president.
