LCD displays in the entire front panel are a trend in modern automotive interiors. A Mercedes can measure up to 56 inches, a Cadillac Celestiq 55 inches, and a Lincoln Nautilus 48 inches. However, Alfa Romeo buyers do not need all this, said company CEO Jean-Philippe Imparato in an interview with Autocar.

The firm’s future models will not have large displays, according to Alfa Romeo’s CEO. “With all due respect to Mercedes with its digital technology, my customers do not need infotainment systems with meter-wide screens or 200 auxiliary electronic systems,” explained Imparato.

The typical Alfa Romeo buyer doesn’t care what the weather will be like three weeks from now, as he just wants to drive, the company’s CEO added. Imparato also clarified that the current version of the screen will remain in use, which will complement the large head-up display.

According to the Alfa Romeo standards in force in 2023, the screens of multimedia systems in the company’s models will be quite compact. For example, Giulia and Stelvio now have a display diagonal of 8.8 inches, while Tonale has 10.25 inches. The instrument panel on all these models is digital with a diagonal of 12.3 inches.

In previous interviews, the head of Alfa Romeo also said that the company’s new cars will receive multimedia with “special features” and a screen of more than 13 inches. And one of the debutants of the brand planned for 2025 will offer the driver the choice of whether to drive the car himself or entrust it to electronics.
