Alfa Romeo announces future of F1 partnership with Sauber in July[F1-Gate .com]

Alfa Romeo plans to announce in July whether it will continue its F1 partnership with Sauber.

The F1 partnership between Alfa Romeo and Sauber is in its fourth year this year and might be the most productive season for them. For the past three seasons, Kimi Raikkonen and Antonio Giovinazzi have finished 8th, 8th and 9th in the Constructors’ Championship.

However, judging from the results of the first four races of the year, last season seems to have effectively mastered the new F1 regulations over some of its rivals ahead. At the moment, he is ranked 5th in the Constructors’ Ranking, and the 25 points he has earned is almost double that of 2021.

Valtteri Bottas, a new team leader from Mercedes F1, has scored 24 of these points, and rookie Zhou Guanyu also marked his first F1 point.

Alfa Romeo CEO Jan Philippe Impalato said of the upcoming F1 plan, “The future of the Alfa Romeo-Sauber partnership will be announced in July.”

“It’s not a complicated process. There are two aspects to evaluate: results and financial benefits.”

It was suspicious when Sauber was regarding to be sold to Andretti Autosport last fall, but the partnership might continue.

Carlos Tavares, CEO of Alfa Romeo’s car maker Stellantis Group, has also been positive regarding continuing his relationship with Sauber, despite some criticisms of his re-entry into F1. Is shown.

“Some people have criticized our choice, but I’m saying there’s more than one way to get into F1,” said an amateur race and rally driver who won the Barcelona 24-hour class in 2014. Carlos Tavares said.

“Own a team is one way, but there are many others, of which we have chosen.”

“If we’re on the track, have a team called Alfa Romeo, and are ready to go to the Grand Prix, it’s working very well.”
