Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale: Sporty memory

Looking back at Alfa Romeo, the history of the brand is paved with countless successes. It is hardly surprising that the Italians use the rear-view mirror from time to time. Like these days, when the people of Turin presented the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale – a homage to the sportsman of the same name from the 1960s. Only 33 pieces will be made of the classy two-seater, which is intended to bridge the history of the brand and the future.

For the project, the Italians created a separate department called Bottega, where the ideas and wishes of potential buyers were collected.

Classic: mid-engine

The characteristic radiator grille, the Scudetto, is framed by elliptical headlights, the sides are characterized by the gullwing doors and two air intakes. The cockpit moved forward thanks to the mid-engine. The glazing of the gullwing doors and the large sunroof give the crew a view almost like that from the cockpit of an airplane. The rear with the sharp spoiler lip and the round lights is a clear reference to the historic Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale.

The interior is characterized by minimalist design and high-quality materials. The steering wheel is devoid of switches and buttons, all controls are instead located on the center console and headliner. The dashboard and center tunnel are finished in aluminum, carbon fiber, leather and Alcantara.

Brembo supplies the electronic braking system including carbon fiber ceramic brake discs.

The mid-engine is an old acquaintance: the V6 biturbo has an output of 456 kW (620 hp). The rear wheels are driven via the eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. In the purely electric variant, the power is transmitted to all four wheels. Power: 552 kW (750 hp). Top for both versions: 333 kilometers per hour.
