Tthe ability to issue RF/QR payment codes, with which they can complete the payment of fees (permit and transfer) via web/mobile banking, citizens now havein the region of Western Greece. The action is part of the overall ongoing project for the digital transformation of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, within the framework of the programmatic agreement of the two co-competent ministries.
In this way, it becomes safer and faster to pay fees for the transfer of a passenger vehicle or two-wheeler, as the possibility of electronic payment of fees is added to the digital vehicle transfer service. The digital transfer of vehicles is available either on gov.gr, in the “Citizen and Daily Life” section and the “Movements” subsection, or directly on the platform
The process
The payment process via web/mobile banking with RF/QR code is particularly simple.
With the electronic payment of fees, the vehicle transfer process is simplified and made safer for both citizens and regional public services with multiple mutual benefits:
– Simplifying, speeding up and upgrading the security of transactions
– Immediate notification of the Region for the payment of fees
– Ensuring the correctness of payment details
– Providing citizens with a common experience with other public and private sector payments.
The implementation and availability of the service was done by the Ministry of Digital Governance and the region of Western Greece, in collaboration with DIAS SA. and domestic credit institutions.
The extension of the possibility of electronic payment of fees to all Regions of the country will reduce the administrative burden of the Transport Directorates and improve the quality of service to citizens throughout Greece.

On the occasion of the expansion of the electronic payment service for transfers in Western Greece as well, the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, responsible for transport, Christina Alexopoulou, stated: “The region of Western Greece is moving into the new era with the introduction of vehicle license fee payment and vehicle transfer services via web/mobile banking. In the context of promoting and strengthening Digital Governance, a key reform implemented by the government, the citizens of Western Greece are freed from unnecessary bureaucracy and wasted time waiting in queues at the district or the Directorate of Transport. Western Greece is at the center of the digital transformation with services that facilitate the daily life of citizens, but also drastically reduce the administrative costs of businesses operating in the automotive, transport and distribution sectors”.
