The coach of the “orange and black” Marino Pushych chose the following starting line-up for this match: Riznyk – in the goal, Matvienko and Bondar were in the center of defense, Konoplia and Azarov were on the wings, Kryskiv, Bondarenko and Sudakov were in the middle of the field, in the winger positions – Kevin and Pedrinho, and Sikan played in the center of attack.
They scored first, but the opponent fought back
Both teams actively started the match, but it was the Donetsk team that looked sharper in the debut, who managed to open the score. In the 16th minute, after Azarov’s cross from the left flank, the home defender Shabanov cut the ball into his own goal – 0:1. Sikan could have developed success immediately, but from the center of the penalty area he shot close to the post. The “miners” managed to double the advantage in the 25th minute: Konoplia dispersed the attack on the right flank, Bondarenko led to a striking position Dmytro Kryskivand he scored with a ricochet from the opponent under the crossbar – 0:2. However, the Alexandrians were not going to give up without a fight and staged a comeback before the break. In the 37th minute, Filippov intercepted Azarov’s pass to Riznyk and hit an empty net, and in the 42nd, Kalyuzhny hit the back of the net with a powerful shot, equalizing the numbers on the scoreboard.
Shootout with seven goals in favor of the home team
The second half began with a penalty against Shakhtar: after a wing pass, the ball hit Bondar’s hand, and Filippov executed the sentence with a kick to the left corner. And in the 57th minute, after a quick counterattack by “Alexandria”, Filippov came out on his own and beat Riznyk, scoring a hat trick. Marino Pušić responded to the opponent’s goals with four substitutions: Franjić, Neverton, Eginalda and Traore entered the field. Meanwhile, the hosts created another moment: Kravchenko shot from a distance into the crossbar, Shabanov played on the finish, but Riznyk parried the shot. The “orange and black” spent the rest of the time looking for approaches to the opponent’s goal, however, almost the entire team of Alexandrians sat down in defense and successfully fought off the guests’ attacks. Neverton had a chance to score, but sent the ball over the crossbar from a good position, and Traore was prevented from striking after a cross from the flank. Only in the last compensated minute Pedrinho managed a smart shot from the right edge of the penalty area into the far nine, which brought up the final score. 3:4 – “Shakhtar” loses to “Alexandria” in a tense game.
