Alexandria Film Festival celebrates the centenary of the artist Mahmoud Morsi

The Alexandria Film Festival for Mediterranean Countries, during its thirty-ninth session, celebrates the centenary of the late artist Mahmoud Morsi, in honor of his great artistic career.

The late artist was born in 1923, and throughout his artistic career he presented important films in the history of Egyptian cinema, the most important of which are “Quail and Autumn”, “Something of Fear”, “The Last Night” and “The Edge of the Sword”.

According to a media statement issued by the festival today, Sunday, the festival is scheduled to publish a book about the late artist’s career, which will be prepared by critic Walid Seif, and his son, Alaa Mahmoud Morsi, will receive the shield of honor.

It is noteworthy that this year’s session of the Alexandria Festival will be held from 3 to 8 October, under the auspices of Minister of Culture Nevin Al-Kilani and Major General Muhammad Al-Sharaf, Governor of Alexandria.

The festival is organized by the Egyptian Society of Film Writers and Critics, and features long and short films from Mediterranean countries in Africa, Asia and Europe.
