Alexander Isak, 25, is not in Newcastle’s squad against Manchester City this afternoon.
The Swede has a broken toe and will not play.
The information that Alexander Isak is bothered by a broken toe came on Friday, which the team’s coach Eddie Howe confirmed, according to The Athletic.
Isak also had problems against Fulham last weekend and has not trained this week.
– It sounds much worse than it is, but he has broken a toe. It’s something that can be managed and he can play with it as long as he can handle the pain levels. It will not pose any long-term risks. He had injections to numb the toe last week, Eddie Howe said.
In other words, Isak is completely missing from the squad today. Emil Krafth starts on the bench.
The match against Manchester City ended 1–1.
