Alexander Grigoryan was dismissed from the post of head coach of Kuban.

This was reported in the official Telegram channel Krasnodar football club.

The contract with 56-year-old Alexander Grigoryan was terminated by mutual agreement of the parties.

“I think that the results that the team showed by the 9th round do not correspond to either the level of the players or the ambitions of the club,” the club quotes the coach as saying.

Grigoryan has headed Kuban since May 17. Initially, his contract with the club was valid until the end of last season. After Kuban got out of the relegation zone in the last three matches of the season and gained a foothold in the First League, the contract with Grigoryan was extended.

This season, Kuban started with three defeats in a row, then there was one victory, three defeats and two draws. In the First League standings, Kuban is in 16th place with 5 points, ahead of Volgar and Neftekhimik.

Previously, Alexander Grigoryan headed Anzhi, Luch, Tambov, and Moscow Ararat. The coach’s last job was women’s CSKA, from which he left in the fall of 2022.
