Vegas Golden Knights defenseman Alex Pietrangelo brought another meaning to the word “cup” in golf by bringing his own cup, a certain Stanley Trophy, to the grass field on Monday.

For his second one-on-one day with the prized silver bowl, following his unforgettable 2019 triumph with the St. Louis Blues, Pietrangelo chose Boone Valley Golf Club, Missouri.

The 33-year-old veteran took the opportunity to practice his short game with the Cup by his side on the lush greens of the Augusta course.

Her triplets and youngest daughter also ate breakfast from the trophy and ended the day at the restaurant.

“Everyone who’s won it a second time will probably tell you the same thing, that it’s a different feeling,” he told the National Hockey League website. The children are a little older, so for me it’s nice, because they understand what it means now.

This victory has a special cachet for his family, since Pietrangelo has considered putting an end to his career to go to the bedside of his daughter Evelyn, struck by encephalitis towards the end of 2022. Fortunately, the little girl recovered quickly and was able to celebrate on the ice with his dad a month ago.

Besides, the rear of the Knights believes he can still win the Cup in Vegas.

“I think we have the chance to win at least one more,” he said confidently. We are not done. We haven’t changed our team either. We have an awesome group. It’s a fun place to play.”

Despite missing almost a month in the regular season, Pietrangelo tied a career high with 54 points. In the playoffs, he added 10 points in 21 games.
