Alex Morgan and Smith keep Wave and Thorns at the top of the NWSL

Chicago (USA), 2 Apr. Alex Morgan, with a double in the victory of the San Diego Wave, and Sophia Smith, with a triple in poker for the Portland Thorns, were the main stars of the second day of the NWSL, the professional women’s soccer league in the United States. Joined.

It was a feat for the Portland team, which lived a season marked by difficulties on and especially off the field, following an investigation revealed a scandal of systematic abuse towards the league’s players.

Among those responsible for these abuses was precisely the owner of the Thorns, Merritt Paulson, who resigned as CEO of the group following being accused of concealing this humiliating treatment.

Sophia Smith was the great protagonist of the victory with a magnificent triplet. She is the top scorer in the championship with four goals in two games, one more than Alex Morgan.

Among the other results, Angel City achieved a last-gasp victory once morest the Orlando Pride with a goal from Mexican Katlyn Johnson in the tenth minute of added time (1-2). EFE
