New details in the case of the death of the young Alex Marangon. Some mysterious stains were found inside his car and according to initial information they could be blood. This is why the relatives of the 25-year-old who disappeared during the night of June 30 have asked for and obtained new analyses on Marangon’s vehicle, which has so far remained outside the investigation. The car that will now be examined by investigators had never been seized and had remained parked outside the Vidor Abbey, in the province of Treviso, where the party was held. As reconstructed in the pages of Il Corriere della Sera, this is not the only new development that has emerged from the investigations into the death of the young 25-year-old who disappeared during a gathering of followers of a shamanic group and was found two days later on an islet in the Piave River.
Jhonni Benavides and Sebastian Castillo, through their lawyer Oscar Palet Santandreu, are expected to present a written statement in the coming days to clarify what happened at the shamanic party on the night between June 29 and 30. The lawyer assisting the two curanderos gave Corriere some excerpts of their version: “All the participants are declaring the same thing, we believe that the truth lies in the words of those who were present” – he said. Speaking about the murder hypothesis, he said that “it makes no sense, that night there was a group of people near the fire, Alex went away to go to the garden, Jhonni (Benavides) went with him, but he didn’t understand what he was saying, so he went into the abbey to ask for the translator, when he came out again Alex had gone away”. The two shamans, according to their lawyer, did not escape on the morning of June 30, when the search for Marangon began, but rather remained inside the abbey until 11 in the morning, making themselves available to anyone who wanted to speak to them.
Another detail that the lawyer of the two focused on is how the gathering took place. The two shamans claim that ayahuasca, the herb that causes psychotropic effects to the point of hallucinations, was not used that evening. In addition, all twenty participants confirmed the version of the two organizers, Andrea Zuin and his partner Tatiana Marchetto, claiming that Marangon “at a certain point got up from the circle, started screaming and ran toward the terrace… then we heard a thud”. Despite this, the mystery of the wounds on the body of the young 25-year-old remains, difficult to explain with a fall and which according to the autopsy would be more compatible with a beating. The increasingly strong suspicion for the investigators is that that evening everyone was particularly altered and had taken ayahuasca, including Marangon who had already done so in the past.
