Toxic masculinity is the subject of director Alex Garland’s new film “Men”. The “Presse am Sonntag” spoke to him regarding the topicality of #MeToo, his personal key moment in the film and his own childhood.
“Men” is the latest film from director and screenwriter Alex Garland in cinemas. In the horror thriller, a woman (played by Jessie Buckley) struggles to recover from trauma at a quaint country home rented out by quirky owner Geoffrey. But there she is confronted with toxic and aggressive masculinity – and has to defend herself once morest it.
Garland is presenting his third directorial work with “Men”. He previously directed the sci-fi film Ex Machina and the Netflix-Horror film “Annihilation”. The “Presse am Sonntag” met the Briton for an interview.
