American striker Alex Galchenyuk was considered by several KHL clubs at the end of last year. The statistics of the center forward in the NHL on paper looked very good. Behind him there were more than 600 matches in the strongest league, in which he scored 354 points.
However, the move of a hockey player with Belarusian roots to our league did not happen. Instead, the experienced striker signed a minimum contract with Colorado, where, alas, he could not really prove himself. He spent most of the season at the farm club. In the summer, the Avalanches fused Alex to Nashville, but there they did not sign a new labor agreement with the striker. Two weeks ago, Galchenyuk still got a job in the NHL, moving to Arizona for one season.
As part of the Coyotes, the hockey player did not last even two weeks. Just eight days after signing the contract, Alex was detained. In the city of Scottsdale, he staged a race with the police, resulting in damage to the city and private property.
The attacker was arrested and taken to the police station. There, he was charged with a range of charges, including assault on private property, disorderly conduct and threats.
Upon learning of what had happened, Arizona sharply condemned the actions of the hockey player and put him up for an unconditional waiver draft.
We strongly condemn such behaviour. As soon as the club became aware of the allegations, we immediately began the process of terminating his contract through the appropriate channels in conjunction with the National Hockey League, the team said in an official statement.

“Never See Your Family”
Details of the resonant detention of the hockey player appeared later. The Arizona’s Family publication, citing a police report, reported that Galchenyuk insulted law enforcement officers, including using racist swear words. He also threatened the officers and their families with reprisals.
“You understand, I will cut you all. One call and your head will be cut off. I will cut you, your wife and your daughter. You will never see your family. You’re scared? One phone call and you are all dead, your whole family, your whole family, – quotes the words of Alex Arizona’s Family.
At the same time, the hockey player, who often visited Russia, began to threaten connections in Moscow. Alleged friends of the athlete from Russia, allegedly, could, at his request, massacre the families of policemen. True, then Alex said that he was joking.
According to Arizona’s Family, Galchenyuk was heavily drunk at the time of his arrest. Of course, such an outburst will hit Alex’s career hard. In the NHL, it will now definitely be extremely difficult for him to get a contract.
