On Monday around 2 p.m., firefighters from the Vesdre-Hoëgne & Plateau area were called to a scout camp located rue du Village in Olne. The alert concerns possible CO poisoning in a room occupied by young people. As a reminder, CO is an odorless and colorless gas, very difficult to detect, which makes it particularly dangerous.
“Three people felt nausea and headaches. The measurements taken on site were negative for CO”confirmed around 4.30 p.m. the Vesdre-Hoëgne & Plateau (VHP) rescue zone.
None of the young scouts were taken to hospital, “the ambulance from Pepinster sent to the scene did not charge anyone”concludes the firefighters of the VHP rescue zone.
More fear than harm for the animators and the animated ones of this camp who had the reflex to react quickly from the first symptoms detected in the children.
