2023-09-03 23:53:59

Yuma, Arizona.- The Yuma, Arizona Sheriff’s Office issued an alert regarding rising levels of the Colorado River tributary.

The notice seeks to warn people who usually go to the area recreationally on the river bank, since the measure begins this Sunday.

The Imperial dam will release 8,000 to 10,000 cubic feet per second, compared to the 1,000 cubic feet per second that it regularly releases.

The highest water level is expected to have reached the Ocean to Ocean Bridge by 10:00 a.m. this Sunday.

Water levels will rise rapidly and substantially, affecting the tributary of the river.

The alert seeks to prevent vacationers and boats in the area, as well as visitors to the parks near the river.
